This image captures the western gateway of the Gate of All Nations at Persepolis. This entrance is flanked by two colossal winged bulls (Lamassu). These figures have the body of a bull, large wings, and a long, rectangular beard adorned with flowers and lotus blossoms. Their front legs rest on the platform, while their back legs are depicted in motion. The eastern gateway is guarded by similar figures but with human heads (sphinxes), creatures believed to ward off evil.
